June 28 Feast Day: Saints Cyrus and John

Today, Saturday, June 28, the Orthodox Church commemorates the Recovery of the Holy Relics of Saints Cyrus and John.
Also commemorated are Venerable Sergius and Germanus the Wonderworkers of Valaam, as well as Saint Sergius the Righteous the Magister.
Saint Sergius the Righteous came from the town of Nikitia in Amastris and reached high positions. He remained faithful to the Orthodox faith and reposed in Crete.
Saints Sergius and Bacchus were soldiers of Emperor Maximian. They refused to sacrifice in a pagan temple and were martyred for their faith.
Saints Cyrus and John lived during the time of Emperor Diocletian. Cyrus was from Alexandria and John from Edessa. They became known for their miracles.
