Eurovision 2026: Critical Vote on Israel's Participation

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) will hold a vote in November 2025 to determine whether Israel will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna.
This decision follows pressure to exclude Israel due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Countries such as Ireland, the Netherlands, Iceland, Spain, and Slovenia have expressed objections to Israel's participation.
A 75% majority is required in the online vote for exclusion. The EBU recognizes the seriousness of the issue and seeks a democratic process.
Israel's potential participation has caused reactions and division among EBU members, which usually maintains a neutral stance.
