Freddo Espresso: A Greek Invention by the Iosifidis Family

Freddo espresso is a Greek invention, with the Iosifidis family credited as its creators. According to newmoney.gr, Giannis Iosifidis, initially involved in the textile trade, and his wife Niovi Kallergi, an executive at the Kuwaiti embassy, met the Illy family during a trip to Italy.

Niovi Kallergi, Vice President and Marketing Director of Kafea Terra, mentions that the initial meeting with the Illy family in Trieste was crucial. Despite the initial reservations of the Illys due to the dominance of frappe in Greece, the collaboration eventually bore fruit, establishing espresso and freddo espresso in the Greek market.
