Germany Criticizes Calls to Boycott Eurovision Over Israel

Germany's Minister of Culture, Wolfram Weimer, has criticized calls from European countries such as Spain, Ireland, and the Netherlands to boycott the Eurovision Song Contest if Israel participates.
Weimer emphasized that Eurovision was founded to bring nations together through music. He stressed that excluding Israel would turn the contest into a court.
Germany is following the example of Austria, the organizer of this year's contest, which expressed regret over the boycott calls. Russia was excluded from Eurovision after the invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
