Mayor Zafar Iqbal stated that it is the city's duty to honor Ozzy Osbourne, while also emphasizing respect for the family's wish for a private ceremony. "Ozzy Osbourne was more than just a musician – he was a child of Birmingham," he said.

Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy Osbourne's wife, wishes the ceremony to be held in a close family circle. Birmingham authorities have taken measures and announced road closures for the smooth running of the procession.
