New Documentary Celebrates 70 Years of Disneyland

A new documentary titled 'Disneyland Handcrafted' celebrates the 70-year history of Disneyland. Directed by Leslie Iwerks, granddaughter of Ub Iwerks, co-creator of Mickey Mouse, the film contains rare material from the Walt Disney archives.
The documentary showcases the construction of Disneyland and the challenges Walt Disney faced in creating it. According to the trailer, Disney commissioned cameramen to record the construction of Disneyland, which opened on July 17, 1955.
A biography by Neal Gabler revealed that Disney was a solitary man who mistreated his staff. During the 1940s and 50s, he was a fervent anti-communist.
