Gene Gillette from Broadway to Athens for Performances

Gene Gillette, known from Broadway, will perform in Athens for 15 shows. The theatrical and television actor will perform the monologue "Artaud/Van Gogh" at the Simeio Theatre from October 1st to 19th.

The play, written by Ioli Andreadi and Aris Asproulis, explores themes of mental illness and art, through the life of Antonin Artaud. The performance was previously presented in 2022 at the Art Theatre, receiving positive reviews.

Gillette has appeared in popular series on NETFLIX, DISNEY+, and NBC and CBS networks, such as "Law & Order", "The Blacklist", "Punisher", "Madam Secretary". He recently co-starred with Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal in "Othello" on Broadway.

The play "Artaud/Van Gogh" has been presented in various theaters and festivals internationally, including The Tank Theatre in New York and festivals in Sofia and Plovdiv. The performance in Athens will be in English with Greek subtitles.
