Matt Smith Joins 'Star Wars: Starfighter' with Ryan Gosling

Matt Smith will join the cast of the new film 'Star Wars: Starfighter', alongside Ryan Gosling. Lucasfilm announced the full cast of the production, which will be directed by Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine).

The cast also includes Flynn Gray, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jameel Westman, Daniel Ings, and Amy Adams. The script is written by Jonathan Tropper.

The film, a standalone story, is set five years after the events of 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' (2019) and is not connected to the Skywalker Saga heroes. Shawn Levy stated that participating in the world of Star Wars is a 'lifelong dream'. The premiere of 'Star Wars: Starfighter' is scheduled for May 28, 2027.
