«The Damned»: R. Minervini's award-winning film hits theaters

«The Damned», the first fiction film by Roberto Minervini, premieres in theaters. The film received the Best Director award in the «Un Certain Regard» section of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

The film takes place in the winter of 1862, during the American Civil War. A group of Union soldiers undertakes a mission to explore an uncharted territory.

Roberto Minervini, an Italian-born director living in America, stated that the film explores the margins and social tensions. The film is an allegory for the founding identity of the American nation.
