International Greek Language Day Celebrated

International Greek Language Day was celebrated on February 9th, emphasizing its recent recognition by UNESCO. Minister of Education, Sofia Zaharaki, highlighted the language's importance to philosophy, science, and democracy.
Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, stated that the Greek language is an element of the nation's historical continuity, connecting Homer, Plato, and other significant figures.
Foreign writers and intellectuals, such as Elena D'Ambrogio Navone and Francesco Neri, expressed their admiration for the Greek language and its cultural heritage. Eusebi Ayensa Prat mentioned Spain's love for the Greek language, while Camillo Neri focused on the teaching of ancient Greek in Italy.
