Historian, Writer, and TV Producer Andros Pavlides Passes Away

Andros Pavlides, a historian, writer, and television producer, has passed away. The news of his death was announced this morning by Trito.
Born in 1946 in the village of Koilani, Limassol district, he worked at the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (RIK) as a director, producer, and television program director until 2006.
He directed over 150 documentaries, including the 4 cycles of the series on the History of Cyprus. He also worked as a journalist and cartoonist in Cypriot publications.
He founded the “Philokypros” Publishing House in 1982 and wrote a total of 37 works, including the Great Cypriot Encyclopedia in 20 volumes.
He was honored with many awards for his overall contribution.
