Giorgio Armani Passes Away

Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani has passed away at the age of 91, his company announced on Thursday.

Armani was synonymous with modern Italian style and elegance, combining design talent with business acumen. He headed a company with an annual turnover of approximately 2.3 billion euros ($2.7 billion).

Giorgio Armani founded his production company in 1975 and is considered one of Italy's most successful designers. According to Forbes magazine, his fortune on July 9, 2022, was estimated at $11.1 billion, making him the second richest man in Italy.

He was born in Piacenza and studied medicine before turning to fashion.
