Gabriele Münter Painting Missing Since 1977 – Do You Have It?

A painting by Gabriele Münter, titled "Music" (1916), has been missing since 1977. The work, which depicts a violinist and two listeners, was last seen in the collection of a German collector.
Megan Fontanella, exhibition curator, considers the work pivotal to understanding Münter after her separation from Wassily Kandinsky. Fontanella included a photograph of the painting in the exhibition catalog as an invitation to locate it.
Gabriele Münter (1877-1962) was one of the most important figures in European modernism and a co-founder of the Der Blaue Reiter group.
