Paphos Prepares for Opera; Castle Closed from September 4, 2025

Preparations are underway in Paphos for the opera within the Pafos Aphrodite Festival 2025. The Medieval Castle of Kato Paphos will be closed to the public from Thursday, September 4th to Monday, September 8th, 2025.

The Department of Antiquities of the Deputy Ministry of Culture announced the temporary closure due to the festival's organization.

Preparations are entering the final stretch for the 23rd Pafos Aphrodite Festival, which this year presents Georges Bizet's Carmen on September 5th and 6th at the Medieval Castle Square in Paphos. The Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theatre, with the participation of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, will participate in the festival.
