Star Wars: A New Hope Returns to Theaters in 2027

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Star Wars universe, Disney plans to bring Star Wars: A New Hope back to theaters in 2027.
The film, originally released on May 25, 1977, introduced audiences to the Force, the Jedi, and the Dark Side, and became one of the most successful franchises in film history.
Disney, which acquired LucasFilm for $4 billion, has not made an official announcement, but sources say the re-release is an open secret.
The re-release of A New Hope comes as Disney has big plans for the Star Wars universe, including films like Starfighter (May 28, 2027) and The Mandalorian and Grogu.
