Stranger Things Finale Boosts Prince's Songs on Streaming Platforms

The finale of Stranger Things has led to a surge in streams for Prince's songs on streaming platforms.
The tracks Purple Rain and When Doves Cry experienced a significant increase in listens, especially among young people under 30.
According to Spotify data, Purple Rain saw a 577% increase in streams and When Doves Cry a 128% increase among Gen Z listeners.
Overall, Purple Rain increased by 243% globally, and When Doves Cry by 200%.
These songs had rarely been used in television series since the movie Purple Rain in 1984.
Stranger Things co-creator Ross Duffer stated that the chances of using the songs were slim, as Prince's estate rarely allows their use outside of the film.
