The director of the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia, Jenny Lymperopoulou, discusses the 'Sector 2: Nicosia' exhibition and its evolution. The exhibition, awarded the Europa Nostra 2026 prize, is soon concluding in Nicosia and Athens.

Lymperopoulou emphasizes that the project evolved into something vibrant, thanks to public participation and personal testimonies. European recognition highlights the project's significance and places the Leventis Museum on the map of European museums.

Although the exhibition is ending, the research and material will continue to be utilized. Personal testimonies provided content and emotion to the history, while the public responded sensitively. Lymperopoulou mentioned the Greek public's response to the history of the Green Line.

Nicosia is a divided capital, and the museum must approach history with respect and objectivity. Parallel actions highlighted the importance of active public participation. The 'Sector 2' exhibition concludes on June 17 in Nicosia and May 24 in Athens.
