Wim Wenders: 80th Birthday Exhibition in Bonn

German filmmaker and playwright Wim Wenders is celebrating his 80th birthday with a major exhibition at the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn. The exhibition, which runs until January 11, 2026, showcases his films, photographs, visual art, and literary works.
Born in Düsseldorf in 1945, Wenders was influenced by images of World War II. The 'Road Movie' trilogy (Alice in the Cities, The Wrong Move, Kings of the Road) and films like Paris, Texas and Wings of Desire established him.
In his most recent work, Perfect Days (2023), he explores the beauty in everyday life. The exhibition also includes the documentary Anselm (2023) and the film Buena Vista Social Club (1999).
Wenders emphasizes the importance of 'getting lost' to gain a new perspective. 'When you are lost, you see,' he says.
