The Nicosia International Festival 2025 opens with "Golden Age" by Konstantinos Rigos, Director of the Ballet of the Greek National Opera (GNO). Performances will take place on September 18 and 19, 2025 at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre.

The performance, supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), is an explosive dance creation that premiered in Novi Sad and was presented in Athens with success. Konstantinos Rigos, a creator with significant contributions to contemporary Greek dance, presents a manifesto for the future.

"Golden Age" takes place in a club-like setting, with electronic music and choreographies that explore themes such as sadness and acceptance. Rigos emphasizes that the performance is a counterweight to unstable and unpredictable times.

The music is composed by Thodoris Reglis, with selections ranging from Verdi and Bizet to Greek songs by Chiotis, Loizos and Mamagakis, as well as rock and jazz hits. Performers include: Vangelis Bikos, Manes Alberdi, Giannis Gkantsios, Stavros Ikbal, Elena Kekkou, Giannis Mitrakis, Petros Nikolidis, Marita Nikolitza, Daniele Pecorari, Stefano Pietragalla, Ariadni Filippaki, Giorgos Chatzopoulos, Despoina Chrysostomou.

Tickets are available through the more.com website and at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre box office.
