AAADE: New Digital Application for VAT Exemption for Small Businesses in the EU

The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AAADE) is launching a new digital application for VAT exemption for small businesses in the European Union, through the myAADE digital portal.
The new regime aims to remove barriers to cross-border transactions for small businesses within the EU. Specifically, the obligation to obtain a VAT number in each member state and the submission of VAT returns in different member states are abolished.
Businesses established in the EU with an annual turnover not exceeding 100,000 euros and not exceeding the internal exemption limit of the member state can join the special regime.
Through the myAADE application, businesses can submit a request to join the special regime, expand their activities to new member states, submit quarterly reports, and inform AAADE in case of exceeding the turnover limit.
AAADE undertakes the full management and support of the system, communicating with other member states and monitoring the compliance of businesses.
