AAΔΕ: Citizen Reports as a Weapon Against Tax Evasion

AAΔΕ (Independent Authority for Public Revenue) is strengthening its efforts to combat tax evasion by utilizing citizen reports. A new decision by the Governor of AAΔΕ, Giorgos Pitsilis, provides for the rapid evaluation and utilization of these reports.
Specifically, within 15 days of receiving a report, a Three-Member Committee will evaluate and score it. This score will determine the priority of the case for audit. Reports will be registered in the AAΔΕ's Case Management application within five working days.
The new decision (Α.1116/4.8.2025) aims at the immediate utilization of information provided by citizens, as the data is often more useful when it is 'fresh'. AAΔΕ is transforming 'information bulletins' into a powerful weapon against tax evasion, focusing on identifying wealthy taxpayers.
Since October 2023, over 40,000 reports have been submitted through the 'Citizen Reports' digital platform, highlighting citizen trust and the significant volume of information available to AAΔΕ.
