Agricultural unionist Kostas Anestidis is at the center of a prosecutor's investigation regarding declarations of agricultural plots and subsidy applications. Prosecutor Dimitris Gkyzis has ordered the freezing of his assets.

The investigation concerns the exploitation declarations for the years 2019 to 2024, as well as a declaration for 2025 concerning rice fields. According to the prosecutor's report, there are "strong indications of false information", suggesting possible fraud regarding the subsidies.

Investigations by the AADE (Independent Authority for Public Revenue) revealed discrepancies between the declared agricultural plots and land registry data, as well as cases where property identification numbers (ΑΤΑΚ) had not been declared or there was no ownership correspondence. The total amount of subsidies received by Anestidis for the years 2019-2024 amounts to €122,765.04.

For 2025, Anestidis declared 17 rice fields, which coincide, except for one, with those declared for the previous years, for which the ownership status does not emerge based on land registry data.
