A DISY Nicosia MP has expressed concerns about the economic stability of Cyprus in her article. She emphasized that the country has experienced painful consequences from economic instability and that recovery requires painstaking efforts and sacrifices.

She referred to the 2013 financial crisis, when Cyprus faced a deep recession, large fiscal deficits, and a surge in debt. There was also a large increase in unemployment and social grocery stores were created. The state's funds were not sufficient to cover salaries and pensions, while the deposit haircut was inevitable.

The MP stressed that the current improvement in the economy is the result of difficult but correct decisions taken after 2013, as well as the efforts of citizens. She warned of the dangers of populism and irresponsible proposals that ignore the fiscal cost. Such proposals, she says, jeopardize the financial system and the savings of citizens.

The author questions the type of Parliament Cyprus needs for the next five years, the way decisions are made, and the impact of irresponsible actions on the economy and society. She concludes by emphasizing that the stake in the upcoming elections is maintaining the country's stability and progress.
