Strike in Nicosia for ATA: "ATA for All"

A large number of strikers and unionists gathered in Nicosia, outside the Ministry of Finance, demanding the reinstatement of the Automatic Cost of Living Adjustment (ATA) to 100% and its extension to all workers. The mobilization took place on Thursday afternoon.
The heads of the trade union organizations, such as Andreas Matsas (SEK), Sotiroula Charalambous (PEO) and Stelios Christodoulou (DEOK), addressed greetings, emphasizing the need for the dignity of workers and the non-negotiable demand for ATA.
In the resolution adopted, the trade union organizations expressed their disappointment at the "inflexible and uncompromising stance" of the employers' side and the government's avoidance of submitting a specific proposal.
A similar mobilization took place in Larnaca, with slogans in favor of ATA and speakers from SEK, PEO and DEOK.
