Ministry Expresses Surprise at Drivers' Strike

The Ministry of Transport has expressed surprise at the drivers' strike, which is taking place while consultations on amending legislation are underway.

The Department of Road Transport, it is reported, has put these bills to public discussion, following meetings and understanding with the Pancyprian Transport Association Alfa.

The bills regulate issues concerning the permissible load height for the transport of containers, as well as the lateral protection of semi-trailers that have the ability to change their length.

The Ministry of Transport notes that it cannot commit to completing the procedures in Parliament by Wednesday, as the voting of bills is the responsibility of the legislative authority.

The Ministry of Transport reaffirms its commitment to continuous dialogue and cooperation with all stakeholders in the industry.
