Amendments to the legislation for A-category transporters are being fast-tracked to the Parliament's plenary session, following an agreement with President Nikos Christodoulides. The changes come after the withdrawal of the strike that had paralyzed the ports of Larnaca and Limassol.

The amending regulations were submitted urgently and are expected to be approved at the next plenary session on November 13, 2025.

At the port of Limassol, the situation appears to be normalizing with the customs clearance of over two thousand containers. The Council of Ministers approved the Draft Regulations entitled "The Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Amendment) Regulations of 2025."

The amendments concern the maximum permissible height for the transport of containers and the lateral protection of semi-trailers. Provisions are introduced for the circulation of vehicles carrying containers of various sizes, under specific technical conditions.
