Cyprus Vehicle Registrations Up 1.1% in January-July 2025

Vehicle registrations in Cyprus recorded a marginal increase of 1.1% in the period January – July 2025, according to data from the Statistical Service. A total of 31,200 new registrations were recorded, compared to 30,864 in the corresponding period of 2024.

Passenger saloon cars increased slightly by 0.1%, reaching 24,158. Of these, 40% were new and 60% were used. Rental cars increased by 32.9%, reaching 3,581 registrations.

A shift towards electrification and hybrid vehicles is observed. Petrol vehicles decreased to 43.3%, diesel vehicles to 8.5%, while hybrids increased to 43.3% and electric vehicles to 4.8%.

In July 2025, motor vehicle registrations increased by 13.7%, reaching 5,246.
