Cyprus Deposits and Loans Increased in May 2025

Total deposits and loans at Monetary Financial Institutions (MFIs) in Cyprus showed a slight increase in May 2025, according to data from the Central Bank of Cyprus.

Total deposits increased by €20.8 million, significantly lower than the €492.9 million increase recorded in April. The annual growth rate of deposits slowed to 5.8%. The total deposit balance amounted to €56.1 billion.

Total loans recorded an increase of €116.8 million, compared to €169.1 million in April. The annual growth rate increased slightly to 5.1%, with the loan balance reaching €25.7 billion.

Deposits of Cyprus residents increased by €24.6 million, while loans to households increased by €15.1 million.
