Cyprus Energy: Uncertainty for GSI and Vasiliko, Hopes for Kρόνος Field

Energy Minister Michalis Damianos discussed Cyprus' energy issues on Alfa Enimerosi. The government considers the Kρόνος field in block 6 a priority, despite reports of delays in negotiations with the ENI-TOTAL consortium.
Mr. Damianos stated that the Kρόνος field, estimated at 3.1 tcf, is commercially viable due to its short distance (100 km) from Zor. He expressed optimism that an agreement would be reached in the coming weeks or months.
The situation remains uncertain for block 12, due to the pending issue with the Isai field and Israel, which is delayed due to the war in the Middle East. The Minister assured that the energy program continues as normal.
There is also uncertainty regarding the Great Sea Interconnector, pending the updated study from the European Investment Bank. The Minister stated that it would not be wise to make payments without the updated data.
Finally, there are no predictions for the terminal in Vasiliko, which has become one of the biggest scandals. The Minister stated that there are schedules, but it is not certain that they will be followed.
