ADMIE's Double Battle: Fire in Kryoneri and Blackout Threat

ADMIE faced a double challenge: the fire in Kryoneri, near the Energy Control Center, and the risk of a blackout due to the heatwave.
On July 26, ADMIE personnel assisted in extinguishing the fire in Kryoneri with water tankers, preventing potential damage to the Energy Control Center, which is the 'heart' of the electricity system.
At the same time, ADMIE managed the high demand for electricity due to the heatwave, with consumption loads approaching 11,000 MW. The high and extra-high voltage demonstrated resilience, maintaining the uninterrupted power supply to Attica.
For Monday, July 28, despite the receding heatwave, demand is expected to remain high, with loads moving above 10,000 MW. ADMIE personnel remain on alert to maintain system stability.
