Cyprus TSO: Power Outage Risk Due to Marginal Sufficiency

The Cyprus Transmission System Operator (TSO) warns of marginal coverage of electricity demand today between 18:30 and 22:00. It calls on the public to reduce consumption to avoid potential power outages.
According to a statement, the coverage of electricity demand is expected to be marginal due to technical problems and limitations. The possibility of consumer load shedding to maintain the safe operation of the system cannot be ruled out.
If cuts are deemed necessary, the maximum continuous period will not exceed 30 minutes per consumer group. The TSO requests public assistance to avoid cuts.
The TSO understands the inconvenience, but the priority is the safe operation of the electrical system.
