Cyprus TSO: Possible Power Cuts Today and Tomorrow

The Cyprus Transmission System Operator (TSO) warns of possible power cuts due to the marginal coverage of electricity demand, as a result of high temperatures.
In a statement, the TSO states that on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, controlled power outages occurred in five consumer groups, lasting up to 18 minutes, due to a fault at the Vasilikos Power Station.
For today, Wednesday, August 13, 2025, and tomorrow, temperatures of up to 45°C are forecast. Electricity demand coverage is expected to be marginal between 18:30-22:00, and cuts not exceeding 30 minutes per consumer group are possible.
The TSO appeals for energy saving and assures that efforts are being made to repair the damages.
