DYPA: Maternity Benefit Also for Self-Employed Women

DYPA clarifies that the maternity benefit of 880 euros per month, paid for 9 months, is also available to self-employed women, freelancers, and female farmers from April 2024, through an application on DYPA's special platform.
This clarification comes after reports on social media about the abolition of the benefit for women entrepreneurs. According to DYPA, the benefit covers those who work, regardless of whether they are entrepreneurs, self-employed, or employees, provided they meet the insurance requirements.
It is noted that the mother is entitled to transfer up to 7 months of the benefit to the father, provided that she has received at least the first 2 months herself. The transfer also applies to same-sex couples, with a joint declaration to e-EFKA.
A prerequisite for receiving the benefit is the absence of debts to EFKA.
