ECSA Celebrates 60 Years in Brussels

The European Community Shipowners’ Association (ECSA) celebrated its 60th anniversary in Brussels, highlighting the crucial role of European shipping in the economy and supply chains.
The event emphasized the need for realistic policies to address industry challenges such as competitiveness and new regulations. Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, pledged to simplify the regulatory framework.
The election of Nikolas Veniamis as Vice-President of ECSA underscores the strong Greek presence in European shipping. ECSA Secretary General Sotiris Raptis spoke about the importance of unity and cooperation in addressing challenges.
Since 1965, ECSA has been the main channel of communication between European shipowners and European institutions.
