Six-Month Suspension for Organic Product Certification Body IRIS

The National Accreditation Council has decided to suspend the accreditation of the organic product certification body "A. CHATZIDAKI and SIA E.E. d.t. «IRIS»" for six months. The decision was made following an extraordinary inspection by E.SY.D. on July 14 and 15, 2025, which found non-compliance with the Accreditation Regulations.

According to the announcement, the hearing of the body's representatives took place on July 30, 2025. On August 4, 2025, the National Council, taking into account the report of the Chief Assessor, the recommendation of the Accreditation Directorate of E.SY.D. and the views of the certification body, unanimously decided to suspend Certificate No. 367-7 (B3/15) for the organic products sector.

After the six-month period, a new assessment will be carried out to examine whether the non-conformities and the reasons for the suspension have been resolved. This decision was taken to safeguard the credibility of the accreditation, as the body is alleged to have violated the requirements of the Accreditation Regulations.
