Olive Oil: Heatwave Impact on Production and Imports from Tunisia

Heatwaves are expected to affect olive oil production in Spain and Portugal for the 2025/2026 season, according to a European Commission report.
Despite concerns for the coming year, EU olive oil stocks for the current period (2024/2025) are expected to remain at normal levels, reaching 0.45 million tons. This is due to a 25% increase in exports.
Exports to the United States, Canada, Australia, and China have increased. Simultaneously, olive oil imports into the EU increased by 15%, with Tunisia being the main supplier to cover reduced production in Italy.
