Maternity Benefit: First Installment Payment in January 2026

e-EFKA will pay the maternity benefit to eligible recipients on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. The first installment concerns insured individuals who have submitted a complete file of supporting documents and finalized their application between December 18, 2025, and January 15, 2026.

Eligible recipients are employed mothers, self-employed professionals, and female farmers. The amount of the benefit depends on the insurance earnings and the insurance history of each beneficiary. For example, in the case of a gross salary of 1,200 euros, e-EFKA pays 880 euros, while the employer covers the remaining 320 euros.

Excluded are insured employees of the Public sector, TAP-DEI, and TAP-OTE (in the latter, the earnings are paid directly by the employer).
