Restaurant Owners in Occupied Territories Request Meat Imports Due to Prices

The restaurant owners' association (RES-BİR) in the occupied territories expresses concerns about high meat prices and requests the immediate commencement of slaughterhouse meat imports.
In a statement, the association proposes the creation of a 'transparent import platform,' a producer protection fund, and a market guarantee system for domestic meat, opposing an uncontrolled import system.
The association emphasizes the need for transparency regarding who is importing the meat, from which country, in what quantity, and at what price.
It is proposed to create an import platform with representatives from producers, butcher shops, restaurants, veterinary units, and inspection units.
It is also proposed to create a fund to support producers, which will be funded by a share of the price of each kilogram of imported fresh slaughterhouse meat.
Furthermore, it is requested to set a reference price for slaughterhouse meats for domestic producers, with the pseudo-state or authorized 'bodies' providing a purchase guarantee if the market price falls below that level.
