Fuel Pass: How Subsidies are Distributed to Families

The platform for the new Fuel Pass is expected to open within the next week, with the aim of making the first payments by Easter. The support package amounts to 50 euros for mainland Greece and 60 euros for the islands for the two-month period of April - May.

The measure concerns approximately 78% of vehicle owners and allows for use not only for fuel but also for public transport and taxis.

The subsidy is linked to the vehicle and not to the household. One vehicle corresponds to one subsidy. Each individual can declare only one vehicle, while in cases of joint ownership, the same vehicle does not provide double support, as it is declared by only one beneficiary. In families with two cars belonging to different individuals, two subsidies can be paid, reaching a total of up to 100 euros for the two-month period.

Beneficiaries are individuals, including the self-employed, who are tax residents of Greece with a family income of up to 25,000 euros for singles and up to 35,000 euros for married couples, increased by 5,000 euros for each dependent child.

The support is provided via a digital card on the mobile phone or deposit into a bank account (reduced by 10 euros). For mainland Greece, the support amounts to 50 euros with a digital card and 40 euros in IBAN, while for the islands it reaches 60 euros with a card and 50 euros without.
