Goldman Sachs: Kathy Ruemmler Resigns Over Epstein Ties

Goldman Sachs' chief lawyer, Kathy Ruemmler, has resigned after her name appeared in the Epstein files released by the U.S. Department of Justice.
According to Axios, the former White House advisor and co-chair of the Goldman Sachs reputation risk committee, reportedly referred to Jeffrey Epstein as "Uncle Jeffrey" in emails.
Her resignation will be effective on June 30. Ruemmler told the Financial Times that media attention regarding her previous work as a defense attorney had become a distraction.
In a statement, Ruemmler said it was her "responsibility to put the interests of Goldman Sachs above all else." Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon praised Ruemmler for her contribution to the company.
Ruemmler's representative, Jennifer Conly, stated that Ruemmler "has done nothing wrong" and that she knew him from her work as a defense attorney.
