THEON Invests in US and Europe for Future Soldier Technologies

THEON INTERNATIONAL PLC (THEON) has announced new strategic investments and partnerships in the US and Europe, aimed at developing advanced systems for the soldier of the future. The THEON NEXT program focuses on Digital and Augmented Reality (AR) solutions.

As part of this, THEON is investing $15 million in Kopin Corporation (KOPIN), an American company specializing in micro-displays. It has also entered into an agreement with eMagin, a US manufacturer of OLED micro-displays. In addition, it is collaborating with ALEREON to integrate Ultra-Wide-Band (UWB) wireless communication technology into its products. Finally, it is investing in Finnish company Varjo Technologies Oy (VARJO), specializing in Virtual and Mixed Reality (VR/MR) headsets.

These agreements aim to promote cutting-edge technologies in defense electro-optical systems and strengthen transatlantic cooperation. Kristian Hadjiminas, CEO of THEON, stated that the agreements bring the US and Europe closer together to develop the next generation of portable systems for the soldier.
