Italy: Fuel Tax Cut for Three Weeks

The Italian government has decided to reduce fuel taxes for the next three weeks, aiming to address rising prices due to the crisis in the Middle East.
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced that the tax reduction will be 25 cents of a euro per liter. Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini stated that Italians will now pay less for fuel compared to the French, Germans, and Spaniards.
The government has also activated mechanisms to guarantee price transparency and intervene in cases of unjustified increases.
According to the Italian government, price increases in Italy are more limited compared to other European countries.
