Koumis: Financial Support for Self-Catering Accommodations in Fire-Affected Areas

The Council of Ministers has decided to provide financial support to self-catering accommodations in fire-affected areas. According to the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Kostas Koumis, the support concerns 66 accommodations, with the amount estimated at around 200 thousand euros.

The financial assistance will be a one-time payment amounting to 40% of the turnover from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023. In cases where calculation based on this period is not feasible, half of the annual turnover for the entire year 2023 will be considered. For businesses that were not operating in 2023, the calculation will be based on the turnover of 2024 or 2025.

Kostas Koumis stated that the support concerns accommodations registered in the Registry of Self-Catering Accommodations of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, within the boundaries of the communities where damages have been identified.
