Veterinarians Demand Immediate Payment of Hazardous Work Allowance

Public sector veterinarians are demanding the immediate issuance of a Joint Ministerial Decision (KYA) for the payment of the hazardous and unhealthy work allowance, threatening mobilizations if this is not done.
In a joint statement by the Panhellenic Federation of Geotechnical Public Servants (POGEDY) and the Panhellenic Union of Veterinarians of Public Servants (PEKDY), the veterinarians recall that for the past year and a half they have been managing the health of the country's livestock and the agricultural economy under adverse conditions.
The veterinarians denounce deception by the state, as, they say, three ministers had promised them the re-granting of the allowance, recognizing their work in dealing with the plague of small ruminants. Despite the assurances, the issuance of the KYA is delayed.
They demand the publication of the KYA for the re-granting of the allowance and its retroactive application from 1/1/2025.
