Cyprus: 20% Cancellations in Tourist Bookings
Share on:

Tourist bookings in Cyprus have seen cancellations of up to 20% for the next quarter, according to statements by Chrysaimili Psylogeni, General Director of the Cyprus Association of Tourist Enterprises.

The cancellations mainly concern the months of March, April, and May. Ms. Psylogeni attributed the cancellations to the uncertainty caused by the war situation in the Middle East and the alerts at the British air base of Akrotiri.

The first and most important market for Cyprus is the United Kingdom, followed by Israel. Despite the cancellations, Ms. Psylogeni expressed hope that the summer season will not be affected, provided the situation stabilizes.

Ms. Psylogeni also mentioned that tourism bodies are in contact with the relevant ministries and possibly the President of the Republic, in order to submit proposals to address the situation.
