Cyprus: Study-Work Match in Journalism

In Cyprus, the matching rate between studies and work for young people aged 15-34 with medium or high education levels is close to the European Union average, at 56.8%, according to Eurostat.

The highest match in the EU was recorded in health and social welfare (80.6%), while the lowest was in arts and humanities (52.2%).

Low matching rates are also observed in social sciences, journalism and information (59.1%) and in services (59.3%). The low match between studies and work in journalism raises concerns about low wages and working conditions.
