Cyprus: Increase in Vegetable Production in 2024

Fresh vegetable production in Cyprus reached 72.65 thousand tons in 2024, according to Eurostat data. Tomatoes held the dominant position with 12.63 thousand tons, followed by onions with 4.26 thousand tons and carrots with 2.2 thousand tons.
In the fruit and nut sector, Cyprus produced 18.88 thousand tons. Apples accounted for 2.65 thousand tons and peaches 1.41 thousand tons.
At the European Union level, vegetable production reached 62.2 million tons, while fruit production decreased to 24.3 million tons.
Despite the small size of production, Cypriot agriculture remains important for the local market and food self-sufficiency.
