According to Chara Kousiappa, spokesperson for the Cyprus Transmission System Operator, no electricity supply problems are expected today, despite high demand due to high temperatures and humidity.

Demand is expected to remain at the same levels as yesterday, when the highest electricity consumption for the year was recorded, reaching 1070 megawatts. The system responded successfully.

Ms. Kousiappa mentioned that the demand for Renewable Energy Sources (RES) is high, especially during midday hours, reaching up to 70%.

There may be days with marginal sufficiency, but any cuts, if needed, will not exceed 20 minutes and will be rotational.
