Government Council for Economic Policy Focuses on Entrepreneurship

The Government Council for Economic Policy convened under Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, focusing on facilitating entrepreneurship. The rapporteur was the Minister of Development, Takis Theodorikakos.

In parallel, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the facilities of ICEYE in Neo Psychiko, a company active in the construction and operation of SAR satellites. The company is manufacturing the first two Greek SAR satellites, which will be placed into orbit by the end of 2025.

During the visit, Dimitris Papastergiou, Minister of Digital Governance, emphasized the importance of manufacturing Greek microsatellites in Greece, while Rafał Modrzewski, CEO of ICEYE, and Vasilis Chaloulakos, head of ICEYE Hellas, briefed the Prime Minister on the company's activities.

ICEYE Hellas plans to start the full construction of satellites in Greece by 2026, creating a production line capable of manufacturing 3-4 satellites in parallel and at least 8 annually. Critical satellite subsystems are already being manufactured in Greece by engineers and technicians.
