Limassol Port: Customs officers launch indefinite strike

Customs officers at the Limassol port have decided to launch an indefinite strike. The decision was made after a General Assembly of the Pancyprian Association of Customs Clearing Agents.
Their request is an extension to the implementation of the new automated import system, as they claim it presents problems and shortcomings, such as the absence of the name of the consignee of containers. Earlier today, they had held a 24-hour strike.
The decision for the indefinite strike comes after the refusal of the management of the Department of Customs to grant an extension to the implementation of the system.
